My host family doesn't have wifi, so I haven't been able to post the past week, so there might be a lot of posts about last week all right in a row.
On Tuesday we met our host families and went home with them.
I have a mom (Berta), dad (Luis), and sister (Claudia). Claudia is 8 and is
learning English in school. We live in an apartment that’s about a 15 minute
walk from campus. It’s on the 3rd floor of the building, which is
the fourth floor in America. There’s a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and 3
bedrooms. I’m pretty sure we have a balcony too, but I haven’t been on it. It’s
very small. The washing machine is under the sink in the bathroom. There is no
dryer. Everyone hangs their clothes to dry, but I’m not really sure how the
clothes ever dry because it is very humid and rains nearly everyday. The kitchen is
probably about ½ the size of a dorm room and that’s where the table we eat at
is too. It is also very cold. All the time. It makes it very difficult to
convince myself to get out of bed every morning. But I really like them, and everything is going well so far.
